Will go on sale late this year.
Lincoln showcased five vehicles at Auto China 2016 (2016 Beijing Motor Show), and these included the all-new tenth generation Lincoln Continental. Derived from the Lincoln Continental Concept, the new generation Lincoln Continental is set to go on sale in USA in Fall 2016 (September-December 2016). The all-new Continental will be Lincoln's fifth model to be launched in China when it goes on sale at the end of 2016, since the brand hit the Asian market in 2014.
The tenth generation Lincoln Continental, although being a full-size luxury sedan, isn't based on a rear-wheel drive platform. Instead of developing a new rear-wheel drive platform, Lincoln used a stretched version of the Lincoln MKZ and the Ford Fusion's front-wheel drive CD4 platform. An all-wheel drive system with Dynamic Torque Vectoring will be available optionally.
Powering the Continental, is an all-new Lincoln-exclusive 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that is estimated to produce 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque (542.33 Nm) when running on 93-octane petrol. There's no word on the transmission as of yet, but reports suggest that Lincoln will offer a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Noteworthy features of the all-new Lincoln Continental include E-latch door release, 'Perfect Position Seats' with 30-way adjustment, rear seats with recilining, heating and cooling functions, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and 360-degree camera system.
The tenth-gen Lincoln Continental will be manufactured at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan in USA.
