Brochure scans of the 2011 year model Land Rover Freelander SUV have been leaked online, and it wasn't until the Moscow Motor Show in August or the Paris Motor Show scheduled for September 2010 were we supposed to see this.
The economy model in the Land Rover lineup, the Freelander is a very important model for India as Tata Motors is planning to assemble this product in India to make it more cost competitive. Reports suggest Tata Motors will utilize the idling Pimpri facility to put the Freelander together as early as next year. This 2011 year model leaked here will be the vehicle assembled, then.
There are no drastic changes to the 2011 Freelander. Cosmetic changes are limited to a new grille, reworked front bumper, new fog lamps and air intakes. The new alloy wheel is another notable change.
Will there be any changes in the engine bay? Will Land Rover give it a more powerful engine or a new transmission? We have to wait for the unveiling for answers.
