A new Land Rover Freelander Metropolis edition will make its debut at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, to be conducted on the evenings of 15, 16 and 17 May 2014.
The Metropolis edition would be the most luxurious Freelander to date and it will sit on top of the 2015 Freelander range that will be launched on 9 June. Prices for the range have been announced. While the base Freelander SE TD4 manual will cost £27,765 (Rs 27.61 lakh), the SE Tech TD4 Manual will cost £29,765 (Rs 29.61 lakh), the SE SD4 Automatic will cost £30,270 (Rs 30.11 lakh), the SE Tech SD4 automatic will cost £32,270 (Rs 32.10 lakh), the Metropolis edition will cost £35,995 (Rs 35.80 lakh).
The SD4 engine is a 4-cylinder 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine that makes 187 hp and 420 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The TD4 is again a 4-cylinder, 2.2-liter diesel engine that makes 148 hp and 420 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Metropolis edition will build on the existing Freelander HSE variant, giving it electrically adjustable (8-way for driver, 6-way for passenger) front seats with premium Windsor leather upholstery, touchscreen-controlled satellite navigation, 825W Meridian surround sound system, panoramic sunroof and 19-inch diamond-turned alloy wheels.
Changes have also been made to include Xenon headlamps with daytime running lights, new carpet mats, heated steering, metallic paint, gloss black interior detailing and reversing camera.
