The highlight of the Discovery Sport is its new three-row 7-seat configuration. Land Rover say that they have given the Discovery Sport the additional two seats without increasing the overall length by much compared to a 5-seat SUV.
Power for the Discovery Sport comes from four-cylinder engines only. The petrol is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 240 bhp and 338 Nm of torque, while the diesel uses a 2.2-liter engine to make 187 bhp. Both engines can be had with 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmissions, and with 2WD or 4WD.
In the U.S., the Discovery Sport is announced to have a starting price of USD 37,995 (INR 23.02 lakhs). The SUV will be produced at Land Rover's Halewood facility in the U.K. Over 170 markets, including India, will get the SUV.
