Kia revealed the Seltos in India on 20 June 2019 and will launch it on 22 August 2019. The company is said to officially commence the pre-bookings on the 15th of this month. Customers will be able to pre-order at Kia dealerships or at Kia's Indian website.
Majority of the Kia dealerships are in their completion stage and will commence operations by the end of this month. Also, the Seltos will be up for display at the dealerships by July-end, while the test drives of the same are most likely to begin from the first week of August. As per dealer sources, the deliveries of the Seltos will begin from last week of August after the launch. Kia will operate from 265 touchpoints across 160 Indian cities, as earlier announced.
In terms of mechanicals, the Kia Seltos will be available with BS-VI three engine options. There will be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115 PS/144 Nm) linked to a 6-speed MT or a CVT, a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine (115 PS/250 Nm) paired with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine (140 PS/242 Nm) coupled to a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DCT. The 1.4L engine will be exclusive to the sportier GT-Line trim of the Seltos which will offer a number of unique cosmetic bits as well.
The petrol range is said to start from a GTX grade and go up to GTX+ grade and the diesel range is said to start from HTE grade and go up to HTX+ grade. In the top equipment lines, the Kia Seltos will pack some high-end features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, 360-degree around-view camera, sunroof, multi-coloured ambient lighting, cooled front seats and Bose audio system.

The Kia Seltos will compete with premium B-SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks as well as the Tata Harrier and MG Hector C-SUVs. Expect the prices to range from INR 11-17 lakh (ex-showroom).
