After the exterior design of the upcoming SP2i, Kia has teased its interior design in new sketches. Apparently, the Kia SP2i is going to have the classiest interior design in its segment that meets global standards.
The official sketches reveal a nicely laid-out, broad dashboard with vertically positioned outer air-con vents in a slightly curvy design. There's a huge 10.25-inches touchscreen infotainment system - the biggest in the segment - neatly merged with the instrument panel, which includes a large MID between the analogue rev counter and speedometer. Below this central display, there are elegantly designed central air vents, followed by a sleek automatic climate control panel. Further below, there's There is also a dedicated mobile phone storage area, likely with wireless charging.
Kia says that the SP2i features multi-colour mood lighting and that its infotainment system offers navigation. The dashboard and air vents have metallic highlights for the much-needed sophistication expected in premium SUVs, while the shiny grab-bar on the centre console for the passenger adds a sporty feel. All this, along with the dual-tone theme, creates a modern ambience in the Hyundai Creta rival. A head-up display is expected to be included in the equipment list.
The Kia SP2i will be based on an upgraded version of the Hyundai Creta's platform. It will be available with two engine options including a 1.5L N/A petrol unit and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel unit. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic are the transmission choices expected with these engines. A performance variant sporting a 140 PS 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT is said to follow at a later stage.
