The Jeep Compass India launch date is set on 31 July. Dealerships are accepting bookings for a deposit of INR 50,000 since 19 June.
FCA India will sell the 2017 Jeep Compass in Sport, Longitude & Limited grades. HID headlamps with daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, black painted roof, roof rails and LED tail lamps are among the exterior highlights of the SUV. Keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone climate control, leather seats, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors and rear camera are the key interior features.
On the safety front, the SUV gets cornering fog lamps, six airbags, ABS, EBD, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control. Hill-start Assist Control and Electronic Roll Over Mitigation round up the safety equipment. You can get the variants-wise specification here.
The Jeep Compass is 4,410 mm long, 1,820 mm wide and 1,640 mm tall. The small wide platform-based SUV has a wheelbase of 2,630 mm and offers a ground clearance of 178 mm. 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel are the engine options. The 1.4-litre petrol mill develops 162 PS and 250 Nm of torque. 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch are the transmission choices for this engine.
The 2.0-litre diesel, the only engine at launch, produces 173 PS and 350 Nm, linked to a 6-speed manual. Jeep Active Drive 4WD system is an option for the diesel model.
