Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September last year, the Jaguar C-X17 crossover concept made its Indian debut at the Auto Expo today. Apart from previewing a future SUV from Jaguar, the C-X17 showcases the company's brand new iQ aluminium platform.
Set to underpin the new baby Jaguar sedan in 2015, Jaguar says that the C-X17 showcases the true length and breadth of this platform.
For the concept showcased today, Jaguar has made a new feature addition called Rear Exit Detection. This system, according to Jaguar, warns the occupants against opening the doors when there are approaching blind-spot objects such as cyclists for example.
The C-X17 and the new sedan will be powered by Jaguar's newly developed four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. This new engine family will offer class leading power outputs and reduced emissions, says Jaguar.
Jaguar launched the F-Type Coupe at the Auto Expo today, apart from announcing the Indian assembly of the XJ sedan.
