Twitter user 'fumini05' has shared patent images that fully reveal the dashboard layout of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny. The production of the fourth generation Jimny is already underway and it was recently showcased to a select audience in Japan.
The dashboard seen in patent images is consistent with the leaked image of the interior that surfaced back in August last year. Like the exterior, it too follows a neo-retro design theme. It borrows bits from multiple Suzuki models like the Ignis and Swift. The top-mounted touchscreen/audio unit, rectangular central aircon vents, and the switchgear placed below the round aircon controls are reminiscent of the Suzuki Ignis. The three circular dial like structures for the air conditioning unit are similar to the Swift. The passenger side gets a grab handle and there are faux rivets placed in multiple locations lending the dashboard a utilitarian touch.
One of the images also reveals the interior door panel. While this one seems to have manual wind up/down windows, expect higher-spec trims to get power windows. The Suzuki Jimny could borrow the Swift's steering wheel.
As seen in the images shared recently, the 2019 Suzuki Jimny features a very boxy design. It gets round headlamps, indicators, and fog lamps up front. While we are yet to get our hands on an image of the rear, previously leaked picture points at bumper mounted tail lights and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Suzuki is currently producing the Jimny is 3-door hardtop format. A soft-top variant could be added later.
Japanese media reports that Suzuki is likely to offer the Jimny with a total of 4 engine options. The JDM-spec Suzuki Jimny will get a 0.66 L engine in order to comply with Kei car regulations. Markets like the UK and Europe could get the 1.2 L K12C DualJet and 1.0 L K10C BoosterJet engines. The Jimny for developing markets is likely to employ a 1.2 L K12B petrol engine. It will be offered with manual and automatic transmission options and will feature Suzuki's AllGrip AWD system as well.

The new-generation Suzuki Jimny is reported to reach the UK market in 2019. While it has been identified as a potential lifestyle product for the Indian market by MSIL's Senior Executive Director (Engineering), CV Raman, there is no official word on its launch here.
