India-made Hyundai Verna and Nissan Sunny ready to scorch the streets of Nepal

Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has organized an Auto Show in Nepal at the Exhibition Hall in Bhrikutimandap this week. The auto show will be used as a platform to launch the latest cars in Nepal.

The Hyundai Verna and Nissan Sunny are headed to attend the Nepal Auto Show and to hit the streets of Nepal.

Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt Ltd (LIPL), authorized distributor of Hyundai in Nepal, will launch the 'Fluidic' Hyundai Verna with two engine options:

  • 1.4 petrol litre VTVT generating 107 PS at 6,300 rpm and 135 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm
  • 1.6 petrol litre VTVT engine with 123 PS at 6,300 rpm and 154 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm

Both the engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The Hyundai Verna will be tentatively priced in between Rs 3.5 million to 4.5 million Nepalese rupees (approximately 21 to 28 lakhs INR)

Meanwhile Dugar Brothers and Sons, the sole authorized distributor Nissan in Nepal, will be launching the Nissan Sunny sedan in Nepal.

The Sunny will come with a 1.5L petrol engine churning out 97bhp of power @ 6,000 rpm and 134 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm. The Nissan Sunny will be available in white, silver, red, blue and grey body colors. Prices remain unconfirmed but mostly it will be in the same range of the Verna.

After deploying the Sunny, the Nissan Micra will be heading to Nepal in January 2013.

Both cars will be exported from their respective Indian manufacturing facilities located in Chennai.
