Toyota plans to launch the India-bound Toyota Vios (Toyota Yaris Sedan) in multiple markets around the world. The Gateway Manufacturing Plant in Thailand plant alone will cater to over 70 countries. After rolling out the car in multiple Asian markets, Toyota has started testing the new sedan in Brazil, spy shots published by Noticias Automotivas have revealed.
The new Toyota Vios on its way to Brazil and India, like the Thai-spec Toyota Vios, is underpinned by the same platform as the Thai-spec Toyota Yaris hatchback. The sedan is 4,425 mm long, 1,730 mm wide and 1,475 tall. It has a 2,550 mm wheelbase and 133 mm ground clearance. Toyota offers it with multiple petrol engines, including the 3NR-FE 1.2-litre Dual VVT-i, the 1NR-FE 1.3-litre Dual VVT-i units and the 2NR-FE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i units.
On the outside, the Vios features projector headlamps with LED light guides, LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels and LED inserts in the rear lamps. Interior highlights include leather steering wheel, shift knob and door trim, automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system, rear armrest with cupholders and six speakers. On the safety front, the B-segment sedan gets rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, ABS with EBD & BA, VSC, TRC, HAC and seven airbags.
The Toyota Vios will debut in India at Auto Expo 2018 next week and have its market launch in April this year. Its Brazilian launch is expected to take place in the second half of the year.
