Honda Cars India has made the Honda WR-V microsite live ahead of its launch on March 16. Not much details are present on the microsite, but interested users can register for more information that will be shared following its launch.
The WR-V is Honda's newest entrant to the local portfolio as well as Honda's crossover lineup. Based on the Honda Jazz, the WR-V is Honda's attempt at a crossover that will rival sub-4m SUVs like the Ford EcoSport and hatchback-based crossovers like the Hyundai i20 Active.
The WR-V will source the Jazz's engine lineup, which includes a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel motor and 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine. Unlike the Jazz there's no option of a CVT in petrol, so the WR-V is only available with manual gearboxes; a 5-speed unit in the petrol and 6-speed in the diesel.
The WR-V will be sold in two grades: S and VX. The top-end VX diesel will comes equipped with 16-inch dual tone alloy rims, 7-inch DIGIPAD infotainment system, automatic climate control and a segment-first sunroof. It's expected to be priced between INR 7 lakh to 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
