Boon Siew Honda of Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, has launched the new version of the Honda Spacy (scooter). It is priced at RM 4,999 (INR 76,605).
The new model features a revised body design, and is devoid of coloured stripes in favour of solid, chrome plated badges. The 18-litre, XL-sized utility box (U-Box) and the 5.2-litre fuel tank have been carried over from the previous Spacy. The U-Box is capable of storing a standard full face helmet. More utility solutions are offered on the scooter, which include an extension of the front inner box that can hold a 500 ml bottle or any other item in a similar size/form factor.
The scooter gets a key shutter that glows in the dark, magnetic locking system, brake lock lever, Side Stand Switch which turns the engine/ignition off when the side stand is engaged and doesn't allow the engine to start until the stand is disengaged, front disc brake and tubeless tyres. The colour choices include Pearl Magellanic Black, Pearl Metalloid White, and Euphoria Red Metallic.

The powertrain of the new Spacy is the same as in the old model, which comprises of a 110 cc fan-cooled single-cylinder OHC engine with Honda V-Matic Technology, and CVT. The Euro II-compliant motor produces 8.77 PS at 8,000 rpm and 8.27 Nm at 6,500 rpm, and is claimed to return 41.5 km/l mileage. The scooter gets 2-year/20,000 km warranty.
