The Honda Mobilio RS is the sportier variant of Honda India's first MPV. At the launch of the Mobilio today, Honda India said that deliveries of the Mobilio RS will commence only from September this year. Deliveries of the regular Mobilio though will start from today.
The Mobilio RS is priced at INR 10.86 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
On the outside, the RS gets new headlights with LED position lights and projector headlights, a dual-slat chrome grille, aggressively designed bumpers, side skirts, roof spoiler and different 15-inch alloy wheels.
The Mobilio RS will be available only on the diesel variant. The engine specifications of the RS are unchanged though. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC motor makes 100 PS (98.59 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque, and it gets a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel variant has an ARAI rated efficiency of 24.2 km/l.
Honda officials told Indian Autos Blog earlier that the RS kit is not a dealer-level accessory, but it is in fact fitted to the car at the Greater Noida plant where the regular Mobilio is manufactured.
The RS doesn't have competitors in India, though it can be compared with the sportier Chevrolet Spin Activ and the Ertiga Sporty in Indonesia.
