The Honda Mobilio MPV was unveiled yesterday at the ongoing 2013 Indonesia International Motor Show. Though Honda say that it is tailor-made for Indonesia's MPV-loving market, the Mobilio is also meant for other Asian markets.
Honda Cars India could showcase the Mobilio at the 2014 Auto Expo that will be held in Greater Noida in early February, as the Japanese company has already confirmed that the car is one of its three next launches. The Mobilio will rival MPVs such as the Maruti Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy in India.

For Indonesia, the 4.4 meter long MPV will be powered by the Honda City's 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine producing 118PS and 144Nm of torque. Two gearbox choices will be available - a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox.
For India however, a diesel engine option using the Amaze's 1.5-liter Earth Dreams motor which produces 100PS and 200Nm of torque would also be launched.
Packaging wise, the Mobilio gets 60:40 second row seats which can be folded, and 50:50 third row seats which can also be folded to make room for an increased luggage capacity.
The Mobilio has been priced from 150-180 million Indonesian Rupiah (INR 8.41 lakhs to 10.09 lakhs). While Indonesian dealers started accepting bookings, deliveries will commence only next year. This is because the Mobilio will be made in PT Honda Prospect Motor's new plant in Karawang, West Java, which becomes operational early next year. The Mobilio will be the first product to roll out of this plant.
