Will come with a six-speed manual transmission.
Honda will unveil the next generation Honda Civic Hatchback prototype at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show which begins on 1st of March for the media.
The company released a teaser image revealing certain details of the rear profile. After launching the Civic in Sedan and Coupè avatars, Honda is all set to premiere the third and final body Civic style which will go on sale in Europe in early 2017. The VW Golf rival will be manufactured at Honda's plant in Swindon from where it will be exported worldwide.
The prototype resembles the sedan and coupè siblings. The harpoon shaped tail lights and the hexagonal pattern on the boot lid have been carried over. The hatchback sports a beefier bumper with dual exhaust pipes in the center. These along with the spoiler give the car a sporty appeal.
Doing duty under the hood, as per reports, will be the all new 1.0 liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine churning out 127 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. As spotted on prototypes, the VTEC turbo engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
In higher variants, the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that powers the Civic in the US, could be offered in the hatchback with a six-speed manual transmission.
