Honda has kicked off 2019 by revising the equipment lines of the City. The company has discontinued the base ’S’ grade, making the entry-price go up by INR 93,000 to INR 9,70,000*.
Previously, the Honda City was available in S, SV, V, VX and ZX grades, with prices starting at INR 8,77,000*. Now, the range comprises the SV, V, VX and ZX grades.
There are several more revisions introduced with the MY2019 update. Honda offers the ZX grade in the petrol-MT configuration, for a price of INR 12,75,000*. The range-topping grade was available in only the more expensive petrol-CVT and diesel-MT configurations.
Automatic LED headlamps with integrated DRL, LED fog lamps, LED rear combination lamps, LED license plate lamps, trunk lid spoiler with integrated LED stop lamp, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, 7-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system, automatic rain-sensing wipers and six airbags are the key features of the Honda City ZX.
Parking sensors were a glaring omission in the Honda City until now, available as official accessories. Now, customers need not buy them, as they are included in the equipment lines, and that too in all of them.
Honda has also introduced two new exterior colours with the MY2019 update: Radiant Red Metallic and Lunar Silver Metallic. These colours replace the Carnelian Red Pearl and Alabaster Silver Metallic colours respectively. The White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic and Golden Brown Metallic colours are still available.
