According to Car and Bike, Honda Cars India has confirmed that the ninth generation Honda Accord will go on sale this October. An exact date is yet to be divulged, however.
The Accord will launch in both petrol and hybrid variants. The latter is powered by a 2.0L Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine combined with two electric motors and a 1.3 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. It is capable of a maximum output of 215 hp and a fuel economy of 23.8 km/L (not ARAI-certified) with carbon emissions of only 99 gram/km.
The India-spec Accord Hybrid is likely to come equipped with a 7.7-inch infotainment system, separate touchscreen with Apple CarPlay support, rearview camera, Active Cornering LED headlamps, Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) and six airbags. The Hybrid variant is distinguished from the regular Accord by the Clear Blue accented grille as well as Hybrid badges.
