The Ford Mustang Mach-E features a bespoke new platform enabling both rear and four-wheel drive.

'Mustang' has been one of the most iconic names in the history of cars. The company is now planning to capitalise on the nameplate with the introduction of the Mach-E. Earlier, it was tagged as the 'Mach 1' because of the strong public opinions against the Mustang branding which seem too heroic for an electric vehicle. But now, the company has decided to go with the same name despite the odds.

On the outside, the Ford Mustang Mach-E seems to be have taken some design cues from the current generation Mustang. It does sport the same long hood and wider rear haunches. At the front, it gets a new closed-off main grille, which is flanked by sleek swept-back headlamp units incorporating futuristic looking LED DRLs. Overall it has a very crossover-like design, and sports very fluidic and smooth design lines giving it an upmarket posh look.

As revealed by the website images, the Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV will sport a very minimalist design on the inside, with a large vertically-mounted infotainment screen placed on the centre of the dashboard. Moreover, a neat looking digital instrument cluster further complements the modern-looking interior space.

The company has also revealed that bookings of the new model will commence in US and Europe soon after it's revealed on 17th this month. The Chinese market will have to wait for a slightly longer time to book the Ford's all-electric SUV.
