Ford's ultimate hatchback shown off in Italy.
Ford is displaying the Ford Focus RS at the 2016 Bologna Motor Show in Italy. The range-topping Ford Focus variant is priced from €39,500 (INR 28,27,150.6) in the country.
The Ford Focus RS is one of more than 12 Ford Performance models set to arrive by 2020. The Focus RS measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,823 mm in width (without mirrors) and 1,472 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,647 mm. Powered by a special 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, the all-new Focus RS represents peak performance in Ford's range of hatchbacks.
The 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine dishes out 350 PS at 6,000 rpm and 440 Nm (470 Nm with overboost function) of torque at 2,000-4,500 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via 6-speed manual transmission distributed between them through the Ford Performance All-Wheel Drive system. A 0-100 km/h sprint takes just 4.7 seconds, and the car can go all the way to 266 km/h. Four drive modes are available to select from: Normal, Sport, Track and Drift.
The Ford Focus RS is available in Italy in five colours: Frozen White, Stealth Grey, Shadow Black, Magnetic Grey and Nitrous Blue. 19-inch RS Design 20-spoke cast alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport are standard, but among many other options, Focus RS buyers can opt for 19-inch RS Design 10-spoke forged alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
