Produces 250 hp and 360 Nm of torque.
As its market launch nears (early next year as told to Indian Autos Blog by company sources), DC Design have released the slogan of the Avanti, which is billed as India's first sportscar. 'Feel Alive' is the tagline of the car, which will cost about INR 38-40 lakhs, ex-Showroom, for new customers.
Power for the Avanti comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit (which is likely a Ford EcoBoost) that produces 250 hp and 360 Nm of torque. The mid-engined car gets a 6-speed manual transmission driving its rear wheels.
Specifications wise, the Avanti measures 4,550 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, 1,200 mm in height and 2,700 mm in wheelbase. Sporting 20-inch alloy wheels, the Avanti is shod with 255/35 tyres at the front and meatier 295/30 tyres at the rear.
Weighing 1,580 kg, DC says that the Avanti's body is made from a carbon composite, and that it uses a spaceframe chassis with a rollcage. The suspension is a double wishbone setup for the front and rear, and the ground clearance is 170 mm. A total of 10 colors are available for the Avanti.
