Powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine.
Along with the Sport Edition of the Chevrolet Captiva, the car manufacturer also exhibited a special edition version of the larger Trailblazer SUV at the ongoing Thailand Motor Expo 2014. While the company introduced a special Urban package for the existing Trailblazer, the showcased SUV, the SVP variant, came with a few more add-ons.
Based on the regular Trailblazer, the Chevrolet Trailblazer SVP boasts a larger, aggressive-looking front bumper, black plastic cladding running on the lower part of the body, flared wheel-arches, roof rails, and an extended rear bumper. The kit also consists of a body-coloured cladding on the doors.
Keeping up with the show car status was the additional use of chrome for the outside rear view mirror housing, door handles, front bumper lip, and even the wheels. A solitary 'Duramax' badge (denoting the engine) graced the Trailblazer's sides.
In Thailand, the Trailblazer is available in two engine choices: a 2.5-litre diesel engine that makes a maximum of 163 bhp @ 3,600 rpm and 380Nm @ 2,000 rpm, and a 2.8-litre diesel that makes 200 bhp @ 3,600 rpm and 500Nm @ 2,000 rpm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard for the 2.5-litre engined variant while the larger 2.8-litre engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic unit. The latter is also available in 4WD version.
The above mentioned Urban package, which Trailblazer buyers can opt for, ups the in-car entertainment quotient with a ceiling-mounted display for rear seat occupants and a DVD player. A reverse parking camera and daytime running lamps also come standard as a part of the package.
