A single variant will be available.
Indian Autos Blog learns that the Chevrolet Trailblazer will be introduced on October 20 in New Delhi. A GM India spokesperson did not comment on the launch date however.
The Trailblazer for the Indian market will be powered by the 2.8-liter Duramax DOHC diesel engine capable of 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Initially, the SUV will come only with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 2WD layout. However, despite missing out on an AWD system, the Trailblazer will be equipped with Hill descent control, Hill start assist, and water wading capability of 800 mm. Reports also state that only a single variant of the Trailblazer will be introduced.
At 4,878 mm in length, 1,902 mm in width, 1,847 mm in height and 2,845 mm in wheelbase, the Trailblazer will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ssangyong Rexton and the Hyundai Santa Fe. This segment, which will soon see the launch of the new Ford Endeavour and the Nissan X-Trail, is dominated by the Toyota Fortuner.
