Trailblazer will come with two-wheel drive only.
Chevrolet’s full-sized Trailblazer SUV will be launched in India in October, and if a report from Autocar India is to be believed, the SUV will be offered as a solo variant.
The website reports that GM India will only be bringing the Trailblazer with two-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox. This is a different approach to the market than competitors Ford, Toyota and Mitsubishi who are offering models in various trims and with the choice of two-, four-wheel drive as well as a manual gearbox.
According to its sources in the company, the SUV is targeted at buyers who plan to use it more on the road than off it.
The Trailblazer will be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with CD, USB, Bluetooth and aux compatibility. Cruise control, leather seats, automatic climate control and a multi-function steering wheel with buttons for telephony are some of the other features reported on-board the Indian specification.

Under the hood, there will be a 2.8-litre Duramax DOHC turbodiesel engine producing 197 bhp and 500 Nm of maximum torque. This engine will be paired to a 6-speed automatic unit. Though it misses out on all-wheel drive, the Trailblazer will get hill-descent control, hill-start assist and water-wading capability up to 800 mm.
