Exterior previewed by Beat Activ concept at the Auto Expo 2016.
A certification from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) proves that GM is working on introducing the Chevrolet Spark Activ pseudo crossover in the U.S, thus expanding the entry-level Chevrolet Spark lineup.
Although the first Chevy to use the 'Activ' suffix was the Chevrolet Beat Activ concept from the Auto Expo 2016, the Spark Activ will bear little relation to the Indian concept. The former is based on the international-spec Chevrolet Spark that rides on an all new platform, while the latter is based on the older M300 platform.
Regardless, the Spark Activ will borrow the crossover bits from the Beat Activ concept, such as a silver skid plate, plastic cladding on the bumper, roof rails and rugged-look elements. Inside, the seats will have 'Activ' branding across, and source most of the equipment from the regular Spark, like the Apple CarPlay connectivity through its 7-inch MyLink infotainment system, a heated steering wheel, cruise control and Corsa’s City-mode Steering system.

Under the hood, the Chevrolet Spark Activ will pack the 1.4L ECOTEC DOHC engine, which produces 98 hp and 94 lb/ft (127.4 Nm) of torque. In the Spark, a 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, while a CVT unit is also available.
