Chery’s Alpha 7 concept which was revealed a couple of days ago, has just had its public debut at the Auto Shanghai 2013. At 4650mm long, 1820mm wide, 1480mm tall with a wheelbase of 2700mm, this car previews the next generation Chery A4. The sedan concept wears an all-new Chery badge which was also revealed at the same event.
The car is more angular in its concept form and incorporates a new design formula which is influenced by water. One would just wonder if the design would be carried over once the car makes its way into production. New in the Chery is the new entertainment and infotainment system known as ‘Cloud Drive’ which will always be linked to a cloud-based server system.
The grille up front looks similar to the available Chery models but the headlights and bumper are in different approach with sportier alloy wheels. The Alpha 7 is powered by a new 1.6 litre turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The aforementioned engine which will also be available in Chery A4 is based on Chery’s existing 126hp 1.6 liter unit. The cabin features white leather upholstery, smooth flowing panels with illuminated contours, and brushed metal across gear lever and door panels.
