Kia's first offering for the Indian market is the Seltos which will be launched in August this year. The company will launch the Carnival (Sedona/Grand Carnival) as its second product for India in early 2020.
Kia may showcase the Carnival at Auto Expo 2020 and then launch it in the later stage based on customer reviews and price expectations. It measures 5,115 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width and 1,740 mm in height. It has a 3,060 mm wheelbase. It is available in 7-seat, 8-seat and 11-seat configurations. For our market, a plush, 7-seat configuration is planned. This should surely be an enticing product for Toyota Innova Crysta customers looking for an upgrade and for families looking for a much bigger and more premium MPV.
Expect the Carnival to be loaded up to the brim with features such as Kia's UVO Connect in-car connectivity suite (also available in Seltos), two sunroofs, power adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, three-zone climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system and a host of safety features. Under the hood, the Indian-spec Carnival will have the 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel which delivers 202 PS at 3,800rpm and 441 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,750 rpm. While a 6-speed manual transmission is available with this engine internationally, in India, an 8-speed automatic transmission could be standard.

Kia will assemble the Carnival in India from imported knocked-down kits. Expect it to price the MPV in the range of INR 25-30 lakh. There's no direct rival for this model in our market.
