Toyota Motor Corporation has let the cat out of the bag. By fall 2011 (September-October) the 2012 Camry will be launched in America. The company has released a teaser video and teasing the car is none other than Mr Akio Toyoda, President of TMC.
Toyota officials told Indian Autos Blog that the new Camry will not be assembled in India. TKM will continue importing the new Camry expected to land here by the middle of 2012 (June-July).
Coming back to the video, according to Mr Toyoda, the successor is the "best Camry ever" and will exceed everyone's expectations. The Camry's handling, safety and fuel economy have also been improved according to Mr Toyoda.
There is no details available on the drivertrain, but spy shots of a boxed up Toyota show a presumably similar design. The Camry will be shorter in height and length. The new Camry will get LED and chrome treatment to emphasize its premium nature or departure.
It will land here in India maybe exactly three years after the mildly face lifted Camry was launched. Toyota say 70% of the Camrys sold in India are to customers who've owned or driven a Camry overseas. They will continue to address the needs of Camry fanboys while giving their undivided attention to establish a good reputation in the B Segment with Etios.
