Hero Honda, defying the recession has tried to maintain its sales by launching three new bikes, which are actually updated versions of the bikes presently in the market.
The new bikes are in the entry-level and the executive segment with prices ranging from Rs 35,800 to Rs 55,450 (prices are ex-showroom Delhi). The models receiving the updates are the very popular Glamour ,the CD Deluxe and the not so popular Fuel Injected Glamour Fi.
The CD Deluxe will come in 4 trim levels with alloy wheels and self-start available on the top end variant. Prices range from Rs 33,700 to 36,900. The Glamour range is priced between Rs 45,800 to 47,700 and the Fuel injected version comes between Rs 51,450 to 55,450.
Contrary to Bajaj's idea of moving away from the bread and butter 100cc market and into the 125 cc bracket, Hero Honda has this base clearly covered. This is the segment that still helps maintain it the numero-uno position in the Indian market (world as well).
These launches are part of an ongoing strategy where Hero Honda wants to launch 12 models in a span of 18 months of which eight have already been launched and the other 4 will be launched in a phased out manner.
