The Versys 1000 is designed to bring the best of Ninja 1000 and Z1000 together. Kawasaki claims that the Versys 1000 is the most versatile adventure-style motorcycle that the company has ever made. The new colour option aims to attract more buyers. India Kawasaki Motors stated in the official announcement:

The new colour option will definitely lure the customer and will be enough to tickle a thought of purchasing. The price for our new colour variant still remains the same. This price drop for our premium sports tourer litre-class segment was a result of using some locally procured parts and manufacturing Versys 1000 in India.

In terms of performance, the MY20 Versys 1000 continues to use the 1,043 cc liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder, DOHC, 16-valve (4-valves per cylinder) engine that continues to carry BS-IV compliance. The motor pumps out 120 PS of peak power at 9,000 rpm and 102 Nm of max torque at 7,500 rpm. The in-line four-cylinder mill is paired to a six-speed gearbox with an assist and a slipper clutch. Kawasaki has tuned the engine for a strong low-mid range torque and smooth power delivery.

In terms of styling, the front fascia includes a twin-pod LED headlight along with an adjustable windscreen. The cockpit comprises a semi-digital instrument console that includes an analogue tachometer and an LCD display. A DC socket in the cockpit ensures that your devices (phone, navigation system and more) never run out of battery.

The upright ergonomics are designed to deliver a relaxed riding position. The Versys 1000 aims to munch miles on tarmac, and it thus packs 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends.

The Versys 1000 is built around an aluminium twin-tube frame, and the motorcycle rides on ø43 mm inverted fork with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability at the front and a horizontal Back-link, gas-charged mono-shock with rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustability at the back. Kawasaki claims that the suspension setting has been updated for a plusher ride quality.
