A report from BikeWale, claims that Suzuki Motorcycle India may introduce a new quarter-litre adventure tourer product in the Indian market. The upcoming model will join the new Gixxer SF 250, the upcoming Gixxer 250 and the Intruder 250 in the quarter-litre space and compete with the likes of the Hero XPulse 200 duo and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Do note that while Suzuki does not plan to bring the V-Strom 250 to our market, the upcoming motorcycle may draw styling cues from it.

The feature list will match the new Gixxer SF 250 and include a full-LED headlight and a digital instrument console. The sub-frame and the suspension setup would be different, in order to match the off-road-friendly character. The revised shock absorption hardware will reportedly comprise longer travel suspension.

The shock absorption setup will most definitely include conventional telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the back. Braking department will comprise disc brakes on both wheels, while the safety net will be handled by dual-channel ABS.

Mechanical specifications are likely to be similar to those of the Gixxer SF 250, although gear ratio should be an exclusion. For reference, the 249 cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine with Suzuki Oil Cooling System makes 26.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The motor comes linked to a six-speed gearbox.

The Suzuki V-Strom 250-inspired styling cues will bring a beak-style design to the fascia along with a tall windscreen. A tall-set handlebar and relatively forward set footpegs would aid the touring friendly ergonomics. We expect to see the motorcycle in two variants – Standard and XT, the standard variant with 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends, and the XT variant with more rugged, wire-spoke setup to the package including larger, 19-inch (if not 21-inch) front wheel.

The new 250 cc adventure motorcycle will share its single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine with the Gixxer SF 250, Gixxer 250 and Intruder 250.
