Do note that the CB300R, which comes to India via the CKD route, retails at INR 2.49 lakh* (was launched at INR 2.41 lakh*). The CBR250R, on the other hand, is available at a much lower, INR 1.95 lakh* tag.
The CB30R has received a positive response in the Indian market. The neo-retro style vehicle is sold-out for 2019 but it is available for backorder. The company had revised the production plan to meet the unanticipated demand.
The CB300R is offered via Honda BigWing showrooms across the country. The Japanese motorcycle rivals the likes of KTM 390 Duke, CFMoto 300NK and the BMW G310R in the Indian market. The revised price of the CB300R also brings it dangerously close to that of the Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 that is available at INR 2.50 lakh* onwards. The Royal Enfield 650 Twins are likely to receive a price revision, although the company is yet to make an announcement on that front.
Based on Honda’s Neo Sports Cafe design philosophy, the CB300R looks similar to its bigger siblings CB1000R and CB650R. It is available in two colours – Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Axis Gray Metallic. Premium features on the CB300R include full-LED lighting, a digital instrument console and upside-down telescopic front forks. Shock absorption duties at the back are performed by a monoshock suspension.
Mechanical specifications include a 286 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, fuel-injected engine that comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motor delivers 30.45 PS at 8,000 rpm and 27.5 Nm of max torque at 7,500 rpm. The power figure is relatively lower than its rivals. The CFMoto 300NK and the BMW G 310 R make 33.9 PS and 34 PS respectively while the KTM 390 Duke, with its higher displacement, churns out a healthy 43.5 PS.
