KTM has teased the RC125 through its Instagram handle ahead of its Indian launch. The teaser video gives a glimpse of the orange/black colour option that was seen earlier this month before mentioning "Coming Soon" at the end.

IAB understands that the RC125 will be launched next week, sometime between June 15 to 18, post which the motorcycle will be available for bookings. We have also learnt that the 125 cc fully-faired bike would cost between INR 1.45–1.50 lakh*. The 125 Duke, with a recent price increase of INR 5,000, is available for INR 1.30 lakh*.

Taking the leaked image and the spy photographs of the motorcycle into account, it will be safe to assume that the RC125 will be available in more than one colour options. We expect to see three paint options for the RC125 – Orange/White, Orange/Black and Full Black. Once launched, the RC125 will compete against the YZF-R15 V3.0. The 155 cc full faired Yamaha motorcycle retails for INR 1,39,680*.

The feature-packed RC125 will come equipped with a twin-pod projector headlight, LED blinkers, LED tail lamp, underbelly exhaust and a fully-digital instrument console (similar to the unit seen on the 125 Duke, 200 Duke, RC200 and the 250 Duke). The motorcycle will share its trellis frame with the 125 Duke although it will feature completely different styling and ergonomics. While the 125 Duke, with its upright ergonomics, suits city riding, the RC125 will get forward-leaning riding stance. The revised ergonomics will be achieved with the use of clip-on style handlebar.

Engine specifications on the RC125 will be identical to the 125 Duke, and the fully-faired model will use the 124.7 cc liquid-cooled motor. The fuel-injected single-cylinder engine is paired with a six-speed transmission and delivers 14.5 PS of power at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. Anchoring and safety setup, too, will be similar to the 125 Duke and the RC125 will feature single disc on both wheels and a single-channel ABS. In comparison, the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 comes with dual-channel ABS. Suspension hardware includes a monoshock suspension at the back and upside-down forks at the front.
