The Blacksmith B2 will feature a battery exchange technology to address the range anxiety issue of potential buyers. Regular readers would know that Revolt Motors would offer battery-swapping feature via its network in Delhi once it commences operations next month.

Most details about the Blacksmith B2 are available on the company’s website. The electric two-wheeler brand has published a couple of teaser images on its website that confirms features like LED headlight, tall windscreen, step-up seat, a tank mounted display and multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The technical specification sheet available on the product page confirms that the B2 will use a 5 kW asynchronous motor. The battery-powered motorcycle can achieve a top speed of 120 km/h and accelerate from 0-50 km/h in 3.7 seconds. A single battery pack promises a range of 120 km, while a dual battery pack doubles the range to 240 km. A single battery pack takes up to four hours for a full charge. The High Energy Density NMC battery pack comes with Intelligent Bluetooth BMS.

The peak power is rated at 14.5 kW (19.44 hp) and the maximum torque output stands at 96 Nm. The motorcycle features a gradeability of 25-degree. It has a claimed loading capacity of 200 kg. Details about the braking hardware aren’t mentioned, although it is safe to assume that the B2 will feature a disc brake on both wheels. The bike will ride on 3.5 R 18 tubeless tyres on both ends.

The safety systems on the upcoming electric motorcycle from Blacksmith include alarm and circuit closing system, side stand sensor, occupant sensor, LED projector headlamp, new traffic indicators (patent pending), GPS and Artificial Intelligence System that will work with a smartphone app.

The exact launch details are not available yet. The motorcycle will most likely benefit from a subsidy under the FAME-II scheme. Moreover, the proposed removal of the registration fee by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will further bring down the on-road prices. Regular readers would know that Revolt Motors would most likely introduce its first product, the RV 400 at an on-road Delhi price tag of approximately INR 1 lakh.
