TVS Motor Company revealed the Apache RTR 200 4V Carbon Edition and the Apache RTR 160 4V Carbon Edition at this year's Feria 2 Ruedas in Colombia earlier this month.

The Carbon Edition motorcycles from the Hosur-based two-wheeler brand have a stealthy look with all-black treatment. The base colour is matte black with a glossy black finish to the top of the fuel tank (on Apache RTR 200 4V only) and the TVS logo. The side panel features a carbon-fibre texture that gives the bikes a sporty and a premium look. The flyscreen on the 200 cc model features a carbon-fibre texture.
Apart from the new paint scheme and the carbon-fibre textured panels, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Apache RTR 160 4V Carbon Editions have the same styling, hardware and engine specifications as the standard models.
The Apache RTR 200 4V and the Apache RTR 160 4V in the images are the carburettor-equipped versions of the motorcycles. The 197.75 cc air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve, SOHC motor with carburettor makes 20.5 PS of power at 8,500 rpm, while the fuel-injected model delivers 21.0 PS at 8,500 rpm. The torque delivered in both the variants is the same - 18.1 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. Both the variants are paired with a five-speed gearbox. The engine also benefits from A-RT (Anti Reverse Torque) Slipper Clutch technology. The top speed differs marginally; the carburettor variant can clock 128 km/h, while the fuel-injected variant can do 129 km/h.
The Apache RTR 160 4V also comes with the option of the carburettor and fuel injection. The 159.7, 4-stroke, 4-valve, air/oil cooled engine with fuel-injection delivers 16.8 PS at 8,000 rpm, while the carburettor variant churns out 16.5 PS at 8,000 rpm. The peak torque is 14.8 Nm and it comes at 6,500 rpm. The 160 cc model also uses a five-speed gearbox, but it misses the slipper clutch.

Stopping power on the Apache RTR 200 4V comes from 270 mm and 240 mm petal-type discs at the front and back respectively, while the safety net includes dual-channel ABS with Rear Lift-off Protection (RLP) as standard. The Apache RTR 160 4V, on the other hand, features a single-channel ABS, while the anchoring tasks are performed by 270 mm and 200 mm petal-type discs on both wheels.
