Autocar reports that the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is finally set to launch in India by July this year. Moreover, it is being said that the official bookings for the new model would commence by mid-June.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will feature a BSVI-compliant 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. In the BSIV state, the motor produces 173 PS and 350 Nm. It is highly likely that the new model will mark the debut of an automatic transmission for the diesel engine of the Compass. That said, it's not sure if the company would bring in the expensive 9-speed torque converter unit that is available internationally. Furthermore, the adventure-focused version will offer Active Drive Low 4x4 System - a four-wheel-drive system with a low range, a rear-locking differential, hill-descent control, Selec-Terrain system with exclusive Rock mode and 17-inch wheels.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will even offer a ground clearance of 225 mm, which is 20 mm more than that of the regular version. Thanks to the higher-set air intakes, the SUV enjoys a water-wading capacity of 480 mm. Styling enhancements will include re-profiled bumpers, underside skid plats, red-painted tow hooks and a black anti-glare decal on the hood. The new model will offer an improved approach and departure angles of 30-degree and 34-degree, respectively.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is expected to be based on the top-spec Limited Plus trim, which means the new model will feature a contrast roof, dual-tone alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
