Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced the commencement of bookings for the 2019 Maruti Baleno (facelift). The refreshed version of the company's hot-selling B2-segment hatchback (it holds the industry record for the fastest 5 lakh sales, clocked in 38 months) can be pre-booked for a token amount of INR 11,000. The updated version will be launched on 27 January.
Various spy images have revealed that the 2019 Maruti Baleno features a revised front fascia, which is courtesy of a new bumper that carries a bigger air dam and new fog lamp housings. Moreover, the front-end receives a new chrome applique for the upper grille. Other than this, the facelift should feature reworked tail lamps, updated upholstery, and 16-inch machined alloy rims on the Zeta and Alpha trims.
The Maruti Baleno will continue to be available in four equipment grades - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The base trim gains reverse parking sensors, while the Delta version gets LED projector headlamps and a new 2-DIN audio system with touch-sensitive controls. All variants receive refreshed interior ornamentation, speed-alert system, and co-driver seat belt reminder.
Mechanically, the 2019 Maruti Baleno stays the same as the outgoing version. Engine options include a K12M 1.2-litre VVT naturally aspirated petrol motor that produces 84.30 PS/115 Nm and a D13A 1.3-litre DDiS 190 oil-burner that outputs 75.05 PS/190 Nm. Transmission options for the former include a 5-speed manual and a CVT, while the latter is available exclusively with a 5-speed manual unit.

The Maruti Baleno received a price increment earlier this month, which means the prices should remain largely unaffected with the advent of the facelift. Currently, the B2-segment hatchback is on sale at a starting price of INR 5.42 lakh*.
