Suzuki has converted the all-new Jimny Sierra into a pickup for the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon (11-13 January 2019). The new derivative, in addition to offering more versatility, has the nostalgic styling of an old-school pickup truck.
The Suzuki Jimny Pick Up Style is painted in an exclusive gold colour and has a contrasting off-white roof. It features a unique grille bearing the classic Suzuki logo in full lettering, a distinctive skid plate, two tow hooks, chrome ORVM caps and door handles, Sierra decals, retro wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Dueler all-season tyres and off-road lights. Another interesting visual detail is the wood panelling on the sides with the logo of the Suzuki Rhino Club.
Suzuki hasn’t revealed the Jimny Sierra Pickup Style’s exterior from other angles or its interior. The pickup version has a brown interior colour scheme, and the company says that the concept is designed to appeal people with DIY and other hobbies.
The Suzuki Jimny Sierra SUV measures 3,550 mm in length, 1,645 mm in width and 1,730 mm in height. The dimensions of the pickup version aren’t out yet. It is safe to assume that it uses the same engine: the K15B. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol unit produces 102 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic are the transmission choices. A part-time 4WD system is standard.
