Classic Legends, a subsidiary of the Mahindra & Mahindra group, relaunched the Jawa brand in the Indian market with the introduction of Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty-Two. Previously, we had seen the maroon option of the Jawa Classic at the launch, and you can check out that motorcycle in a detailed walk around below. Recently, we stumbled on the Black coloured variant of the Jawa Classic, and it looks achingly beautiful. The Jawa Grey, on the other hand, looks subtle and classy.

The combination of the base paint is complemented by various chrome-finished components and the gold coloured stripes on the front and rear fender, fuel tank, and the side panels.
Regular readers would know that the Jawa Classic (also referred to as Jawa) was launched in the Indian market last month at an ex-showroom Delhi price tag of INR 1,64,000. The motorcycle can be purchased in three colour options – Jawa Maroon, Jawa Grey and Jawa Black. The dealer level bookings and the test rides, as reported earlier this month, commence on Friday. Meanwhile, potential buyers can reserve the motorcycle through the official website for a token (fully refundable in case of cancellation) amount of INR 5,000.
Apart from the Jawa Classic, Classic Legends also introduced the Jawa Forty-Two and Jawa Perak in the Indian market for INR 1.55 lakh and INR 1.89 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. The Jawa and Jawa Forty-Two are available to purchase while the Perak bobber would be available from mid-2019.
Both, the Jawa and Jawa Forty-Two use a 293 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve motor that is BS-VI compliant. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, the engine uses a fuel-injection system and delivers 27 bhp of maximum power and 28 Nm of peak torque. A single 280 mm disc up front with floating calliper and a 153 mm rear drum brake performs anchoring tasks, while the safety net of single-channel ABS is available as standard. The rear drum brake is aimed to give a retro look to the motorcycle.
Telescopic front forks and twin rear springs perform the shock absorption tasks. The twin-sided, chrome-finished exhaust pipes further enhance the retro looks.
