In February this year, spy photos showed the SUV with some production panels production for the first time, just days before it was previewed in concept form as the Tata H5X at Auto Expo 2018. That’s the prelude to the Harrier’s pre-launch phase.
The Tata Harrier is the first production model to embody the second iteration of the IMPACT Design language. It rides on a modified version of JLR’s D8 platform, dubbed ‘Omega ARC’. It employs FCA’s 140 PS 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or a Hyundai-made 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine carries ‘Kryotec’ branding at Tata Motors.
Interested customers can pre-book the Tata Harrier at a dealership or on tataharrier.com for an amount of INR 30,000. The market launch will take place in January 2019.
