Bajaj Auto has launched the new Pulsar NS125 in Poland. The motorcycle features fuel-injection system and CBS that should help it comply with the latest emission and safety norms of the Indian market. While the India launch details of the motorcycle are still concealed, live images of the motorcycle from the debut market have surfaced online.

Will it come to India? It is difficult to confirm at this moment as Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, had said in an interview that the Pulsar 125 is an unattractive proposition. Bajaj further added that the company is working on a new motorcycle brand for the 125 cc segment.
Bringing the Pulsar NS125 to replace the Pulsar 135 would help Bajaj to comply with the new safety norms that make ABS and CBS mandatory on all two-wheelers from April 2019. The Pulsar 135 would require the addition of ABS while the Pulsar NS125 can get away with just CBS. This would enable Bajaj to price the NS125 more competitively than the Pulsar 135.
Styling cues are identical to the previous Pulsar 135 motorcycle that came equipped with split seat and two-piece pillion grab rail. The dual-tone colour scheme gives it an appealing look that should catch the attention of the young buyers in the 125 cc segment. Regular readers would already know that the Honda CB Shine heavily dominates the 125 cc segment of the Indian motorcycle market.
Mechanical specifications include 124.45 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, DTS-i, fuel injected engine that delivers 12 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Average fuel consumption, as stated in the source report, stands at 2.5l / 100km – or 40 km/l.
Anchoring tasks are performed by a 240 mm single disc brake at the front and 130 mm drum unit at the rear while the safety net includes CBS. A conventional telescopic fork at the front and twin-sided Nitrox shock absorber at the rear handle the suspension tasks.
