Yamaha has revealed the new MT-03 for the European market. For 2019, the naked roadster features three colour options – Black, Blue and new Ice Fluo (gray).

The new Ice Fluo colour gets red MT-03 branding and graphics on the fuel tank and red painted alloy wheels. The fuel tank gets a black centre. The combination, along with the red graphics, gives the motorcycle an appealing look.
Another colour option that should appeal to the young buyers with A2 license in the European market is the blue MT-03. Apart from the fuel tank and the wheels, the chassis too gets a blue paint. The colour, along with the combination of black gives a refreshing look to the MT-03.
Lastly, for anyone who likes to have a subtle paint on his/her motorcycle is the black option. The motorcycle gets an all black finish. Even the MT-03 logo on the fuel tank shrouds gets a stealthy look with a grey-ish finish.
The changes to the motorcycle are limited to the paint options. All components continue to be the same as the model it replaces. Thus, the 2019 MT-03 continues to use 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valves engine that is tuned to deliver 41.4 hp of maximum power at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
A 298 mm hydraulic single disc at the front and 220 mm hydraulic single disc at the rear perform the anchoring tasks. Suspension duties are performed by 41 mm, conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
While the MT-03 hasn’t received a major upgrade for 2019, it’s fully faired sibling, the YZF-R3 is ready to arrive with a complete makeover. The 2019 Yamaha YZF-R3, which was revealed through leaked patent images, will feature a revised fascia reminiscent of the 2018 Yamaha YZF-R15. At the front is a dual full-LED headlight with an air-intake in the centre and a more premium, upside-down telescopic suspension setup.

Given that the YZF-R3 will receive a big makeover very soon, the MT-03 should also pack more premium hardware in the next update. It is, however, too early to comment on that. For now, the motorcycle will be available in the three colour options with all the hardware retained from its predecessor.
