Autocar India reports that Mahindra has added Apple CarPlay support to the infotainment system available on the top-of-the-line Mahindra Marazzo. The Marazzo was launched on 3 September in 4 trims - M2, M4, M6, and M8. The latter two have been available with a 7-inch infotainment system, but only the M8 trim offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Other than the touchscreen infotainment system, the top-spec Marazzo M8 comes equipped with projector headlamps with LED DRLs, front and rear fog lamps, keyless entry, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control and power folding wing mirrors.
The Mahindra Marazzo is powered by an all-new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that outputs 123 hp of maximum power and 300 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front wheels. The company has revealed that petrol, as well as an automatic variant, will be introduced by April 2020.
The Mahindra Marazzo is said to be the world's first-ever passenger vehicle to feature a front wheel drive layout with a ladder-frame structure. The patented architecture leads to low floor height and a flat floor while offering the general benefits of a frame-based construction.
The Mahindra Marazzo has been on sale in a price bracket of INR 9.99 lakh* to INR 12.90 lakh*. The MPV is available in seven- and eight-seat configurations. So far, the new model has bagged over 10,000 orders since the launch. It commands a waiting period of up to 45 days on select variants.
Mahindra & Mahindra is said to be aiming at a monthly sales target of 4,000 units of its latest MPV. The company can ramp up the production to 7,000 units a month in the next financial year in case the demand improves.
