Deliveries of the recently introduced Maruti Swift Special Edition have commenced. Prices of the limited-run model start at INR 4.99 lakhs*. Here are images from a dealership shared by autoday. The special version of the company's top-selling hatchback is based on the entry-level trim.
The Maruti Swift Special Edition is kitted out with a handful of new features in addition to the equipment available on the LXi and LDi trims. Exterior updates on the Maruti Swift Special Edition are black wheel caps, body-coloured Outside Rear View Mirrors, and body-coloured door handles.
Inside, the Maruti Swift Special Edition features a Bluetooth-enabled music system with dual front speakers, electric windows for the front occupants, remote central locking, and reverse parking sensors. All the extra features carried by the limited-run model are dealership-level fitments and do not tamper with the car's warranty.
There are no mechanical changes. The new model is available in both petrol and diesel engine options - 1.2-litre K12M four-cylinder petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS four-cylinder turbocharged diesel. The gasoline motor outputs a maximum power of 81.80 hp @ 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 113 Nm @ 4,200 rpm. On the other hand, the oil-burner produces a maximum power of 74 hp @ 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. Both the engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
