The Ducati Scrambler 1100 has been spied in India, courtesy of a Carandbike reader. According to the report, Ducati India will launch the Scrambler 1100 in the country by the first half of August.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 will become the flagship offering in the Ducati Scrambler series in India. The Scrambler 1100 targets the more experienced riders who want a more powerful version of the motorcycle, without loosing on the Ducati experience. The Scrambler 1100 is globally available in three versions – the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Standard, Scrambler 1100 Special and the Scrambler 1100 Sport.
Ducati India is expected to offer all the three variants of the Scrambler 1100 in the country. The Scrambler 1100 carries forward the same design as seen on the smaller model. However, the flagship features an ample amount of aluminium finish on the engine cover, alternator cover, and clutch. The riding ergonomics are slightly tweaked with the handlebar pushed farther ahead and rear set foot pegs.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 features a new all-digital LCD instrument cluster, which also displays the traction control settings and riding modes. The Scrambler 1100 will compete with the Triumph Thruxton R and the BMW R nineT Scrambler, while it is expected to cost in the range of INR 11-12 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle gets a comprehensive electronics suite, which includes a five-level traction control system and three riding modes. The Scrambler 1100 also features an inertial measurement unit (IMU) with lean angle sensitivity and cornering ABS.
Powering the Ducati Scrambler 1100 is a 1,079 cc, Desmodromic L-twin, air-cooled motor that also powers the Monster 1100. The engine on the Scrambler 1100, however, is tuned to offer smoother power delivery and produces 85 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm while developing a peak torque of 88 Nm at 4,750 rpm. The engine pairs to a 6-speed transmission with a standard slipper clutch, which helps during aggressive downshifts.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 comes with ride-by-wire throttle system and three riding modes - Active, Touring and City. The Active riding mode offers full power and quick throttle response, while the Touring-mode provides maximum control with relaxed throttle response. On the other hand, the City mode reduces the power-delivery to 75 bhp along with gentle throttle response.

Suspension setup on the Standard and Special variants include 45 mm upside-down Kayaba fork with preload and rebound damping adjustability, while the rear features a mono-shock that is adjustable for spring preload and rebound damping. The top-spec Scrambler 1100 Sport receives fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension setup. The rear suspension is also adjustable for rebound damping and spring preload.
