The current Maruti Ciaz comes with a seatbelt reminder for only the driver.

As per the leaked image, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will feature a speed alert system and a seatbelt reminder for both driver and front passenger. It's noteworthy that currently, the Ciaz comes with a seatbelt reminder for only the driver. However, the facelifted model will offer a seatbelt reminder for the front passenger also in compliance with the upcoming more stringent safety norms.

The leaked document reveals that the objective of the speed alert system will be to prompt the driver to maintain a safe driving speed and adhere to the speed limits. At speeds above 80 km/h, the speed alert system will sound 2 beeps every 60 seconds. Above 120 km/h, there will be constant beeps to remind the driver to slow down. The new safety features will be available across all the variants of the updated Ciaz.

The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will feature an updated front-end, which will comprise a sleeker grille, bolder bumper and updated headlamps. The new headlamps will feature LED DRLs and LED projector lights. At the rear, the Ciaz will have a new set of tail lights. On the inside, the Honda City rival will get a new faux wood trim, an updated instrument cluster, cruise control and adjustable rear headrests.

The K14B 1.4-litre petrol engine will be replaced with the all-new K15B 1.5-litre unit that will offer higher maximum power and torque figures. In the 2018 Suzuki Ertiga, it produces 104.7 PS and 138 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The current Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine will be carried over to the facelift. It will continue to come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Both the engines will feature SHVS micro-hybrid tech.
