The 2018 Maruti Ciaz finally reached showrooms yesterday. Here's a walkaround video from YouTube user A & T providing a close look at the model's exterior and interior.

The 2018 Maruti Ciaz comes with minor design tweaks, new equipment, new mild-hybrid system and a larger petrol engine. Most visual changes are at the front where Maruti Suzuki has introduced LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED fog lamps with chrome garnish, Multi-pixel radiator grille, reshaped lower air intake and more aggressive bumper.

The profile looks more stylish with new 16-inch precision-cut alloy wheels in dual-tone Metallic Pebble Grey finish. Changes at the rear include LED combination lamps and new chrome garnish. Inside, the basic design and layout are the same. Birch blonde wood grain accents, revised instrument panel with a 4.2-inch colour MID, cruise control and adjustable rear headrests are the main new interior features.

The Maruti Ciaz is safer, thanks to the addition of co-driver SBR, ESP (petrol-AT-only), Hill Hold Assist (petrol-AT-only) and speed alert system. Reverse parking sensors, previously included in only the Delta, Zeta and Alpha grades, are now standard.

The 2018 Maruti Ciaz features a new generation mild-hybrid system with Lithium-ion and Lead Acid dual battery setup. Unlike in the old model, a mild-hybrid system is included in the petrol engine model. Another significant change is the replacement of the K14B 1.4L petrol engine with the K15B 1.5L petrol engine.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine develops 77 kW (104.7 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. Like the old engine, it sends power to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The fuel economy rating has gone up from 20.73 km/l (MT)/19.12 km/l (AT) to 21.56 km/l (MT)/20.28 km/l (AT), thanks to the new mild-hybrid system.

The Maruti Ciaz diesel continues with the D13A 1.3-litre engine that produces 66 kW (90 PS) at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Its fuel economy has remained unchanged - 28.09 km/l.
