The 2018 Maruti Ciaz is now on sale in India, with prices starting at INR 8.19 lakh*. The facelifted model comes with an updated design, new petrol engine and additional comfort and convenience features.
The 2018 Maruti Ciaz has a more elegant front-end with new high-tech lighting and design revisions. LED projector headlamps with DRLs and the LED fog lamps create a bright all-white signature, while the Multi-pixel upper grille gives a sleek and wide appearance. Chrome garnish around the fog lamp bezels and a sportier bumper complete the front-end differences.
On the sides, the 2018 Maruti Ciaz has new 16-inch precision-cut alloy wheels in dual-tone Metallic Pebble Grey finish. At the rear, changes include LED combination lamps and a new chrome garnish on the bumper.
The interior layout has remained unchanged. Maruti Suzuki has refreshed the cabin with Birch blonde wood grain accents with a low-gloss finish and revised instrument panel with new 4.2-inch colour MID. Two more new interior features are cruise control and adjustable rear-seat headrests.
The new Maruti Ciaz offers higher safety, thanks to the addition of ESP (petrol-AT-only), Hill Hold Assist (petrol-AT-only), co-passenger SBR (standard) and speed alert system (standard). Reverse parking sensors are standard now.
Coming to the mechanical changes, the facelifted Maruti Ciaz features the next-gen smart hybrid system as standard. The new mild-hybrid system comes with dual battery and provides torque assist, idle start-stop and brake energy recuperation. Maruti Suzuki has replaced the K14B 1.4-litre petrol engine with the all-new K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine. The bigger engine offers 13% more power and 6% more torque.
The K15B petrol engine produces 77 kW (104.7 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. It is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The fuel economy rating of the new Maruti Ciaz petrol is 21.56 km/l (MT)/20.28 km/l (AT), up from 20.73 km/l (MT)/19.12 km/l (AT) despite the bigger and more potent engine. The new Maruti Ciaz diesel carries over the old model’s D13A engine and has a fuel economy rating of 28.09 km/l (unchanged).
