Hero MotoCorp has initiated the shipments of Xtreme 200R to customers in the North-Eastern states. On 5 July, the company revealed prices of the Hero Xtreme 200R on its website. Here's everything you need to know about Hero's re-entry into the premium segment.
Price & Competition
At INR 88,000 (ex-showroom), the Hero Xtreme 200R is substantially cheaper to the TVS Apache RTR 200 and the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200. That said, according to Hero MotoCorp, the bike's real rivals are the Apache RTR 160 4V, Apache RTR 180 and the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160.
Availability
At present, the Hero Xtreme 200R is available in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, and West Bengal. The company is still to launch the bike across India officially. However, it has commenced the deliveries in a phased manner for the states mentioned above. Hero dealerships across India are accepting bookings for the motorcycle at an amount of INR 5,000.
Engine
The Hero Xtreme 200R sources its power from a 199.6 cc, single-cylinder, 2-valve, air-cooled engine that is good for 18.1 bhp of maximum power and 17.1 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Features
The Hero Xtreme 200R features a single-channel ABS as standard while the bike stops with disc brakes at both the ends. The Xtreme 200R gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer.
Mechanicals
The Hero Xtreme 200R runs on 100-section front and 130-section rear MRF tires, which pairs with 17-inch alloy wheels. The bike features 37 mm telescopic forks at the front with antifriction bush and a 7-step adjustable rear mono-shock, while a diamond-type chassis underpins the motorcycle.

Proportions
The Hero Xtreme 200R gets a wheelbase of 1338 mm along with a seat height of 795 mm, while the ground clearance stands at 165 mm. Dimensionally, the bike is 2062 mm long, 778 mm wide and 1072 mm tall. The Xtreme 200R gets a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 litres and a kerb weight of 148 kg.
