The current generation Honda Jazz received a facelift in Japan in May last year. Changes include minor cosmetic updates to the exterior. The 2018 Honda Jazz, as per several media reports, will be launched in India this month.
Reports claim that the company has commenced planning pre-launch media activities for the Honda Jazz facelift. It will be the Jazz's first update since its launch here in India. The current third generation model came to India in July 2015.
Revisions to the exterior design include a ‘Solid Wing Face’ headlight signature and grille combination, and a more sculpted bumper with pronounced contours at the front. There are L-shape LED pilot lamps integrated into the headlight cluster. Smaller black inserts linked by gloss black strip are present at the rear end. The roof mounted spoiler has also shrunken. New colour options and alloy wheel design could be part of the updated package.
Honda's Digipad 2.0 touchscreen infotainment system is likely to find its way into the new Jazz's cabin. Apart from that, there won't be any noticeable changes. Honda may update the upholstery and overall colour scheme, though.
Expect the current set of 1.2 L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5 L i-DTEC diesel engines to be carried over. The former pairs with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT and develops 90 PS and 110 Nm. The 1.5 L diesel engine makes 100 PS and 200 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Honda Jazz starts at INR 5.99 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards going up to INR 9.32 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top-end petrol grade. A significant change in pricing is unlikely.
